These are the Romney Family Holiday Attire Guidelines:
1. The children wear the Holiday Attire for the month prior to the following holidays:
Valentines Day (can be worn after, cause hearts are year round)
Halloween
Christmas
2. The children wear the Holiday Attire ONLY on the day for the following holiday:
St. Patrick's Day
3. The children wear the Holiday Attire on and anytime after (but not before) the following holiday:
4th of July
Easter (dresses, etc.)
4. The husband must wear the Holiday Attire on the following holidays:
4th of July
St Patrick's Day
Christmas Eve (a red or green shirt will do)
5. The mom will wear the Holiday Attire as long as it is stylish and she has money left over in her holiday budget:
We take pride in our festiveness and our cuteness. Don't even try to compete.

I, for one, cry uncle and bow down to your holiday spirit. I'm ashamed to say the extent of our holiday shirts are some stretched out Christmas turtlenecks that have been passed down from kid to kid.
We don't really do the holiday shirt thing either. But your post has inspired me...
Oh boy. You totally beat us in this department. I suck at both decorating AND holiday clothing. The only thing I do well at is possibly Christmas baking. I'd like to do Halloween baking too but it always goes straight to my hips. I'm jealous of your awesomeness
I also love holiday shirts for my kids but you do have me beat. I saw your blog from Bridget's. I had to post because my best friend at BYU was a Romney from SLC. She even named her first son, Romney. I wonder if you are related.
Unfortunately, we don't take pride in our festiveness. At least when it comes to matching holiday shirts. Occasionally, we will have matching 4th of July shirts, but that's about it. So, there's one more thing to add to the list of things to stress about on the holidays...

I'm impressed!! Our holiday attire never seems to be all on at the same time!! Except for Christmas, which I make them all do and not move, until I get pictures!!
Some husbands really resent being emotionally strong armed into the wearing of dorky, matchy-pants, holiday shirts. I am not naming any names, but I have heard there are some husbands out there like that...somewhere.
If my kids read this they would want to move into your family. They always want the shirts but I refuse to buy them. A lot of time their grandma comes through for them though. You are so festive! Great pictures.
Sorry, you totally don't win on this one. I do all the same things, with all the same rules. Oct. 1 the Halloween t-shirts come out (but mine all have to match, so ha!), and 4th of July they all have to match too. Usually those shirts are custom made (they last for a few years) with names. And they have to match all the cousins. You do win for blogging about it, with all the adorable pictures to match. But I DO have them.
And don't forget the Christmas dresses too. A Christmas T-shirt doesn't cut it.
I have failed with my husband, I admit. You win there. And my decorating is all cheap crap.

In my house, any Holiday shirt matching is purely accidental.
My family is like Ilene (same lady from Ross?!), we wear our holiday spirit in our hearts or on our sleeves.
We do listen to Christmas music several times in the year, does that make me a festive mommy?

The kids always have new Christmas and Easter dresses/church clothes. We always dress for July 4th and Halloween and sometimes Valentines Day. But I must admit, the others (St. Patrick's Day!?) fall by the wayside. Looks like I need to kick it up a knotch or two.
Oh, I guess we always wear green on St. Patrick's Day, but it is never designated holiday attire.

Do your girls get matching ribbons in their hair that say "Happy Halloween" and "Happy St. Patrick's Day" because my poor, unfortunate souls do. If only boys could wear ribbons....
Oh Lorena, you are my girl. We have the Halloween ribbons, the special St. Paddy's ribbons, heart ribbons, 4th of July star ribbons, etc. It's a disease.
So, do your kids dress up for Halloween or not?

I got the cutest orange shirt for Griffin the other day- orange with a pumpkin. I really built it up to get him to wear it, only to discover the cap sleeves and tapered waist. He insisted on wearing it anyway.It would have looked darling with a little bow.
