Sunday Summary

Some REALLY exciting events of the past week:

The Missionaries came for dinner

Please tell me someone else's kids COMPLETELY spaz out when the missionaries come over for dinner! We spent the entire evening yelling over such questions as these: "What's your name? What's your last name? (that's a tricky one) What's your middle name? What's your mom's name?" Then, we asked the missionaries if they had a message to share (don't they usually?) because I was planning on counting it as Family Home Evening, and they go, "um, yeah" and then they do this little trick:

(don't show your kids, so that your elders can use it if they don't have a message and are asked to share one)

(Something about the glasses being the priesthood, revelation and prophets and holding up the gospel. It was life-changing.)

Jane's first dance class

You might remember a few months ago Jane proudly announced to everyone that she was a quitter (of gymnastics). A few weeks later, my friend said that she was getting a group of girls together to do a dance class, starting after Christmas. I told Jane about it November and she has nearly died with anticipation. The day after Christmas, she woke up and said, "When is my dance class today?" We held her off for a few more weeks and the glorious day arrived. After many costume changes, we settled on white-fluffy sleeved leotard and pink tights. She loved it. The teacher approached me after and showed me some of the steps I could work on with Jane during the week. Uh-huh. Right.

What was lost was found

Can you believe it?? Look closely... Gabe found the CTR ring! We all rejoiced together.

And the day after I paid for this library book:

Gabe found it (here he is demonstrating where he found it). I can return it, minus the processing fee. Why does that ALWAYS happen?

A Saturday with nothing to do

After the housecleaning extravaganza, we napped, played Didder (I refer you to the post earlier this month, if you are too un-cool to know what that means), had friends over and blogged. Ryan actually finished a book! And then we went out to dinner with some friends.

It was, frankly, weird.

Please take some deep breaths, we don't want the excitement of this post to cause you to overly exert yourselves! We promise to be much more exciting this coming week!

Okay. What are the knives for on top of the cup picture? You can't post a pic like that unless you tell us the ENTIRE story they shared with it. Ya know, unless it's too boring of course.
Glad you found the CTR ring. I was worried. Do you think I'll lose my last 15 pounds if I play didder? Please say yes.

Jess, you could make anything sound exciting! You have a gift for it! Even your dullest weeks are interesting! Funny, we had the missionaries over for FHE last Monday too and I told them, "so we're ready for your message because we're counting this as FHE". They had to go get their scriptures in their car. Maybe they all need a talk on being prepared!

what was weird? the friends you had dinner with or the fact that Ryan finished a book? I need to know.

My kids TOTALLY spaz out when the missionaries come. My boys try to tackle and show off that way and Maren flirts with them- no joke, telling them "I think you're cute" blushing and everything. Glad I am not the only one with this problem.

I understand the lost library book, we have one at our house. I've been on the hunt. I hope it turns up.

Ha Ha. Sounds like a typical week around here. Things list things found. Crazy kids (yes mine are always wild when the missionaries or anyone comes over.) I wonder if there is a cure. And please don't say good parenting because I'm pretty sure that's a myth.

the missionaries visual representation looks like it took some coordination! My kids actually used to cry when the missionaries came over--it freaked them out I guess. They're over it now. We've been slackers lately & just drop them off a pizza when it's our turn, but we're actually going to allow them to sit down when they come next week. Glad the ring & book were found & your little girl looked ADORABLE in her dance outfit. Something about leotards on little bodies--darling!

The last time we had the missionaries over, Jaxon kept trying to speak Spanish to them. He had learned in church that missionaries speak different languages, so he was testing them.
"Do you know what mas means? How about uva?" etc, etc.

All night.

Hey Babe, you got more than me this week. I mean sick kids, please? Jane is adorable. But isn't she tempted to stop class and grab the book next to her? Can't wait to see you working on those ballet steps each day in between piano, homework, chores, and life.

Next to my laying on the couch and laying in bed all weekend, yours sounded incredible!

Oh, and I have paid for many a library book...thank you, Elena!

I have a love hate relationship with finding lost library books, it takes so long for them to return your fee, minus the processing fee, I always contemplate just keeping them.

Are you kiddin' me? That wasn't boring at all!

It had the mystery and intrigue of finding a lost ring and library book.

It had the high action sequences of the long awaited dance class and Didder. (Oh yeah, girl~ thanks to you, I am totally in the know about Didder!)

And what's this! Life changing and gospel affirming lessons with the missionaries?

You Romneys, are ALWAYS a good time.

Thanks so much for commenting on my blog:) I am putting Adam on a plane tomorrow.

That is so great to hear that other kids SPAZ OUT when the missionaries come over! I thought my boys had some serious problems.

We had the same CTR experience. My dd lost hers and was heartbroken. Then found it and it was no big deal. ARGHH. I do believe it is lost again but know better than to ask her (and bring on the drama).
I'd love to say my kids act wild with the missionaries over but they act SO wild that we have avoided having them over for awhile now- sad but true. :(

My kids spaz when anyone comes over. And yesterday when we went over to eat with some new friends, they completely lost it and embarassed me to no end.

Oh well...

I have the same leotard! Jane and I should get together soon.

My boys love the missionaries--only Jake called them the "mercenaries" for the longest time.

You're lucky - we have sister missionaries in our ward. Whenever they come over, they spend half the night walking around my house critiquing my decorating. My kids ALWAYS act like monsters. My husband is almost always out of town. I dislike feeding the missionaries. Am I going to hell?

I wish we could have the missionaries over more often! When we lived in Wisconsin we had them over twice a month. It was great for the kids, and yes they TOTALLY spazzed out when they came!

The library book makes me laugh because the exact thing happened to us this week. arghhhh! Don't you hate that!

I too want to know what was weird? The dinner with friends?

Saturdays like that are the best - aside from the feeling that you should be doing something because it's too unproductive to just enjoy one another's company.

that always happens right when you pay the rental fine is when you find that movie or library book or whatever. It's a trick.

I love your summary posts. I need to start doing this.

Nathan used to call them the "mishimerries". And I think that everyone's kids spaz out for them. It always makes me think that the missionaries are never going to want kids after seeing how crazy all of ours act!

AND... how can you have a boring post and STILL get
25 plus comments??? You are more subscribed to than the Ensign I think! And these comments are ALL
mormon-ish 'cuz they know WHAT you are talking about with the "elders" eating over!?!?
Last night, Jesse and I went to SED (Sunday Evening Discussion) which is youth fireside over here in Hawaii.... to discuss EFY and in the chapel they were having a CES fireside for YSA. OK, do you get all that lingo? Michael asked IF the CIA OR the FBI were in attendance!!! Good to be LDS so we can all understand most of your situation with the CTR ring!!!
PLEASE get Jax to blog like you do!!! Jesse is homeschooling now to take the GED in the spring and go to KCC in the fall, (Jr. College) SO he has dropped out of HS, soph. yr. and I have plenty of time to check blog spots while I am waiting for him to "get smart" doing his GED work books!
OK, out of 3 letter codes, so G/N!
