Playtime

Why Ryan goes to church basketball:

Why I go to church basketball:

See...now what I can't figure out, is why the guys all act annoyed when they have to scoop a two-year-old out of the way while they are playing. It's hard to appropriately dissect the latest Jane Austen film by Masterpiece Theatre and watch our children at the same time. Geez.

I say basketball game or not, any time after 6:00 p.m. we are not responsible for watching the kids. The men need to teach the kids how to stay off the court!

My take on Masterpiece-

Still stuck on Capt. Wentoworth.

I get a little creeped out by Fanny and Edward - THEY ARE COUSINS.

That's all I've caught up on my DVR for now.

Indeed! Getting irritated with having to move a 2 year old out of the way...you women have meaningful things to discuss...next time, tell the guys you are testing their reflexes...can they successfull shoot for 2, without tripping on an unsuspecting toddler?

You look so cute in that picture! (as always :) )

now that kind of church basketball, I can do. nothing like catchin' up with the ladies, court side.

I notice none of your children are actually in the picture. I hope they are on the court getting some exercise, not just cheering for daddy.

Where do I sign up? I don't live in Washington and my husband doesn't play basketball...but you'll still let me come right?! :-)

Oh we would love your ward, both Matt and I would fit right in.

That is my kind of ward activity. Men don't seem to understand that when women are dissecting Masterpiece (and other fine topics) the children are really not in our line of vision anymore. And therefore, not our problem.

Our ward basketball games start at 9:00, so all our kids are in bed by then. Too bad-- I would love to have some chat time with my neighbors! Looks fun.

I missed that game. I really do enjoy coming to the games so that I can catch up with all the girls, er, I mean watching Todd play.

I was so excited for Ryan's basket you blogged about before. The look on his face was priceless!

I wanted to cry when I missed Friday's game.

What Jane Austen movie was discussed? Hey, Dan is out of town tonight, wanna come over and watch a movie?

I'm glad to see both my boys are accounted for in that picture. My children would never run across the court to get a drink or throw surplus basketballs onto the court. Those kids belong to the women from the other team.

What cracks me up is that none of your kids are in the picture! I assume you brought them? Which I were there to discuss The Complete Jane Austen with you!

Yeah, I am doing church basketball too! It is fun to hang out with the girls in my ward, except my best friends husband tore his ACL the first night and now they won't be going for awhile!!!

I LOVE THIS!!! How TRUE! HOW TRUE! :)

Oh my- how true!!! I can't believe the men actually have the guts to act annoyed with us. So my kids step past "the line" every once and a while, big deal. I mean lets be realistic, these guys are past their prime, sports days. So what's the point really? Am I right? So we women might as well get in some healthy discussion about masterpiece theatre- which is actually quite therapeutic for me as a mother.
