Boring Recipe Post

There are some people who do very funny and well-written recipe posts that other people read even if they don't like to cook.

This isn't a post like that.

Here's the link to the Macaroni and Cheese I made for Emma's birthday (and every other kid birthday we have). It's super healthy.

And this is how you make those super yummy, super easy, super Pretty Parfaits:

1. Make 1 box of white cake mix. Stir in pink/red food coloring and bake as directed. Cool.

2. Using the rim of one of your tall, clear glasses, cut circles in the cake.

3. Layer:
  • cake
  • thawed frozen raspberries (1-2 bags)

  • raspberry sherbet

  • vanilla ice cream

4. Repeat layers twice.

5. Top with whipped cream and red sprinkles.

This makes, probably, 6-8 tall parfaits. I have used this at girl baby showers and birthdays and people die over them.

(Again, I would LOVE to know if you've tried any of my recipes and if you liked them. It's good for my ego.)

That wasn't boring. It was delightful. I especially liked the "cool" at the end of direction 1.

I really am going to make that mac and cheese. And I'm going to make the other recipes that I've wanted from you too. How do you stay so skinny with such recipes? Please share your secrets.

I am going to try to remember this for the many baby showers I host. I'll just hope one of my friends has a girl next. I'll give you credit, don't worry.

I think you need to bring Mac-n-Cheese and pink parfaits to bloggypalooza. Those look AMAZING. I bow down at your meal cooking feet, sister. You do it all. All I can do is pastry and cookies. You cook actual MEAT. Which, btw, I still make your flank steak like once a week. Love it!

Oh, I love recipes. Celia Fae may not, but not all of us can afford to eat breakfast out every morning. ;-)

I made the grasshopper brownies, not sure if those were you or Paiges, but my whole family adores them. I think I made a recipe but am blanking out now. I will pass this one along as it looks so fun and sounds yummy! Tell Emma to have fun Skiiing!!

Dang it. Do we know anyone having a baby girl around here? I need to get me to that shower if you are making the parfaits.

For anyone out there who has not tried any of Jessica's recipes, she IS the Romney Family Cookbook personified. Trust us, they are GOOD!

Yummmmmm! Thanks for sharing the recipes. The mac and cheese one looks especially lo-cal. I want to make them for dinner tonight because now my 'Hawaiian' haystacks don't sound very yummy.

(do hawaiian haystacks EVER sound yummy?)

I enjoyed your pictures of the delightful creations AND reading the recipes. I am going to just leave it at that. I give up on trying to replicate recipes that I learn about from my bloggin buddies. My cooking and baking skills went out the window with child #3. I'll give it another try in let's say about 15 years.

GREAT IDEA!!! I have a boy baby shower that I am throwing for my first counselor in about two weeks. I am going to try this with blueberries and bananas. I will let you know how they turn out!

Jessica Hi I am Adrianne's sister in law. Annette was always making the comment that she read your blog and telling us the funny things on it. I thought to myself...why would you want to read someone's blog that wasn't your families or friends or whatever, well one day I clicked on yours to see why Annette was so into you and that is the day I found out why...You are so interesting and creative and smart and spiritual, and your kids are so cute and funny. So I look at it all the time, I don't ever say anything because I don't know if you care that random sister in laws of your friends are so into reading about your life but I think you are really great. You give me great ideas and I just thought I'd tell you thanks.

These look delicious and beautiful and if I could procure raspberries or sorbet, I would most certainly make them.
