11 Things that happen when your wierd toe tumor acts up and makes it impossible to walk without pain

1. You have to skip your morning run which makes you feel extremely grumpy and fat.

2. You don't want to get out of bed and put (all that!) weight on your toe, so you find husband-related reasons to stay in bed.
3. You still don't want to get out of bed, so you watch the new Paula Abdul video.
4. When you finally decide to brave the foot pain, you come down and find your two year old picking through the Lucky Charms (doorbell ditched goodwill gift...more on that later) for all the marshmallows...because he's so hungry.

5. You skip your Friday morning weigh in, because you can't possibly weigh in without a hard-sweating run to help you out--and decide to eat pancakes, instead.
6. You realize that you can only walk on your foot, when it's in these shoes:
and Emma asks you if "dad is going to be mad at you for walking on the carpet in your shoes".
7. You can only wear these shoes with your too-tight brown pants and so have to wear this outfit (which you've worn to other blogfriend meetings) when you go to the mall to meet your blog friend Andrea.

8. Your 4 year old keeps running around like a crazy child with Andrea's 4 year old, because your feet hurt too much to stop them.

9. You spend a lot of time on the computer fixing your links (which Ryan says you shouldn't do , because what if you leave someone out?) and editing your Blog book.
10. You certainly do not take care of any of these areas:

11. You try to decide if you will fake more foot pain tomorrow, because today's been pretty darn relaxing.

Those last pictures make me sort of dizzy. Maybe it's because my house has those same problem areas today.

I'm sorry about your toe tumor. I really hope it gets better. In the meantime, just enjoy the pancakes. You'll feel lots better.

ok, just a wee bit offended that I'm not on your list of friends from Washington! :) I think your toe pain should last as long as you would like it to. Until the kids are all in bed tonight, or maybe until after they're in bed tomorrow!! :)

I think you should go ahead and fake tomorrow. Thanks for making me feel more normal for having the same messes all the time.
I hope the foot problem gets better quick.
love you, Brooke

Sorry about your toe! At least the shoes you could wear are really cute...

My husband is in San Diego today. I basically took the day off too. No shower, my girls hair is not done, no laundry, no cooking (we are going out to get Wendy's right now), all the kids toys are all over the floor. AND I DON'T CARE! :)

Everyone needs a day off.:)

I'm glad you got to relax. I need to hurt my foot.

P.S. I ran into Christie today. We were conspiring about how we're going to get you to move to Dallas. It's a really great place…

The lucky charms goodwill gift doesn't have anything to do with CF and Denae?--couldn't possibly, but the timing is ironic.

I am surprised that noone has asked you to take a pic. of the tumored toe but I am certain you left it off to avoid the foot fetish freaks.

No faking on this blog. Love your courage to show your messes. Maybe I will someday!

LOVE the messes you show! Makes me feel better about mine. (sadly, though, mine seem worse.)
My happy excuse is pregnancy. Good luck with that weird toe tumor. Sounds interesting... and very painful.

Mmmm. I think I feel a toe tumor coming on. Seriously, hope yours feels better.

Can't wait to hear more about the Lucky Charms thing.
I am with ya on the toe thing. Still wearing my dumb foot shoey-thinga ma jing, but it has gotten me NO sympathy from my DH. ARGHHH. Maybe I should tell him it's a tumor instead of it just being broken.
And I agree with Ryan- some people do get sad when they are left off the sidebar...not saying any names....(I just started piping up so I know I don't deserve sidebar time...but maybe someday....). If that all didn't sound desperate I don't know what does.

That stinks that your foot is bugging you. Oh, and I'm totally offended that you left me off your blogging list. I thought we were family, Jessica... just kidding.

Lauren in GA said...

Jessica!!!!!! I could kiss your feet!!!! Even the one with the weird toe tumor!!!!! Thank you so much for the link!!!

Okay, enough about me...I am sorry you have a toe tumor that is hurting!

Those are really cute shoes, though :) Sorry, I guess that doesn't help much, huh?

I am so sorry to hear about your toe, man that sucks. Hope you feel better soon. Thanks for adding me to your roll, you rock.

I'm sorry your toe hurts, but I'm glad I got a link. You know, you are the one that got me into this whole blogging thing. (That's sounds like a derogative adjective, but it isn't.)

Is the tumor on the tip of your toe? I seem to remember yours were quite long . . . maybe just a snip, snip and you're healed?

Bridget said...

Weird toe tumor sounds very interesting indeed. At least the shoes to ease said pain are cute ones. I wish I had an excuse for my messy house right now.

Mique (as in Mickey) said...

I must have been looking under "pathetic girl looking for a link." Sorry, my bad.
Do you mind if I add you on mine?
Don't you feel loved with all these people SO excited to be on your sidebar?

Linsey said...

So, is this condition permanent? contagious? likely to flare up tomorrow? Seriously, what's the real skinny behind the weird toe tumor?

Ilene said...

I bet Ryan wouldn't mind if you had a toe injury tomorrow either...
even if you do walk on the carpet with your shoes on.

I'm just sayin'

Foot pain is THE WORST. I'd love to hear more about the weird toe tumor. Hopefully it will be all healed up for the walking around at Women's Conference. Sounds like a pretty good day!

A toe tumor? ewwwww.
Husband related staying in bed? ahhh

By the way, thank you for showing you're normal. I am under the impression that all you blogettes out there are so together and perfect. I kinda needed the reality check.

I've been pretty darn lazy and I blame in on being 7 months pregnant. What am I going to do when babino gets here and I still want to be lazy. Hope you toe gets better. do you have to get it removed (the tumor)

Christie said...

Do you think I could use the toe tumor to get out of husband-related bed duties? I'm just asking.

We'll need to see pictures of that toe tumor, missy.

Brigitta said...

btw: where is the picture of the weird toe tumor. Of course we need to see it!

Cami said...

I'm sorry you're in pain.
I like your link updates. Very clever.
And...unrelated to this post...yes, I really do get mad at my kids and you are too hard on yourself, but like me you could also do better, c'est vrai?

yes, your sore toe is the reason i didn't stop my daughter from running all over the place with yours. i could tell it really hurt.
i had fun getting to know you guys. it made me even more excited for blogapalooza. now i won't feel like such a blogapa-LOOZA for not knowing anyone.
i'm writing my "got to meet jessica" post later today. can't wait to blame your sore toe for everything else in my life. :O)

I think my toe is starting to hurt...

Or maybe I should have used that excuse today because we too have pancakes still on the griddle, and laundry on the floor.

PS... Cute shoes and hair!

That was actually a pretty good video and song. I must admit I'm rather surprised. I have a terrible headache and Greg told me to go blog to get my mind off it, and I have to say that it was a nice distraction. Thanks. I hope the toe feels better.

Lorena said...

I can see the pain in your face...ouch!

I find that when I don't workout, bad food tastes MUCH better. I bet those pancakes were AWESOME!

AZ Karen said...

How do I get me one of those toe tumors. I want to take the day off!

Is it bad that this morning when my kids woke up stuffy, I was secretly hoping they wouldn't be able to go to church because I wanted to stay home?

Way to work this to your benefit.

More toe tumor details please.

I'd almost say sign me up...but I don't really like pain. Pain or housework? It's a hard choice. :-)

zeeny said...

I'm sorry your toe is bugging you...at least you have a good excuse to skip the run and weigh in!! Enjoy your disability!

Adrianne said...

Is this related to the heel surgery in high school that had you crawling around? I bet your toe wouldn't have flare-ups if you bought it lots of new designer shoes... just a thought.

I think we should fake an ailment at least 2 days a month. Not including PMS related ailments.

I want to hear more about the blog book -Sounds like something I need. Poor toe, I hope it is better soon.

I know I am super late in posting. I just have to say that I too am having foot issues. I totally jacked up my foot walking around the city of Chicago for hours and hours in boots. (But looked good doing it.)

I have avoided the treadmill so I don't have to put any pressure on my foot.
