Not a Bed of Roses

In the last 8 hours:

1. Seth and Jane were super late getting ready for school and I yelled "focus!" at Seth in a lame attempt to get him moving.

2. Faith screamed for half of the morning and I thought I was handling it right but I have no idea and it's made me teary with frustration twice

3. She also barfed (in a tantrum) 3 minutes after we headed out for errands so she smelled like vomit the whole time

4. Gabe is sad in his room and after 10 minutes of back rubbing and cajoling, he won't tell me what's wrong

5. Jane just called from school and Seth fell off of his scooter and has a big goose egg on his forehead and the school had me sign a "head trauma" when I picked him up

6. Faith just dumped 400 cashews on the floor and yelled "you are the meanest mom" and is now locked in her room until she can a) talk nicely and b) clean up the nuts

So, today's not awesome. That's all.

Find some chocolate, eat some, take a deep breath, eat some more chocolate, and remember that meanest moms make the best moms.

So sorry. I hate those days. I know how frustrating the sad boy in the room is. Been there, and it's heartbreaking.
You are a good mom. Get a big hug from your husband!

I have been crying in frustration a lot lately...it hurts that I just don't know what to do sometimes.

and #4 happens a lot to me, too. I want them to tell me...and they just clam up...and it kills...

You are a great mom though, Jessica. Really and truly.

Any of those are frustrating alone, but all 6 in the same 8 hour stretch? Yikes! Sorry you had a crummy day. We all have days like that and, fortunately, they pass. Hope today is much better! :)

so yesterday pretty sucked. I hate those days. But what the heck is a "head trauma" form? That's new.

I have been called the meanest mom ever so many times this week I cannot count. Lucia is getting into a defiant and tantrum-y stage, and Gabe continues to top the charts with his defiance. I have no idea what I'm doing and most of what I do I think - um, why did I do that? That's not going to help??

And my goal is to only be half as good a mom as you are....

Totally two days late to the party (sorry!) Hope you're feeling better. Days like that should be eliminated.

I love this post, because this stuff happens in life. My posts before were much different but now they are more like yours. Ha!
