Indian Summer

If I hear one more person say:

“I am just ready for autumn to start!  I’m ready for this summer to be done”…

Picture 046 Picture 047

Picture 048I’m going to hit them.

We are enjoying the most lovely Indian Summer here in the Inland Northwest.  Yesterday, when I took these pictures, it was 90 degrees.  The flowers are still blooming, the tomato plants are still tomato-ing, and my kids are riding happily on their bikes to school.  And I’ve been hearing moms complaining about it.

What I always want to ask those people:

Have you ever NOT gotten enough cold weather?  Have you ever wished spring would come later, so you could have just a little more winter?  Are your kids jeans NOT as hole-y as mine by the end of May?!

Long Live the Late Summer!

I am totally with you. I don't want the warm weather to go away either. At least until November. I might be ready then. Our forecast shows rain and 59 on Monday. Boo hiss.

Anyone who lives up in the frozen tundra of Spokane should be shunned for welcoming Fall. It will come. And so will Winter. Live it up while you can.

BAA-ZARR! We are in the 60's and 70's here in Texas. The world is topsy turvy.

After reading your winter posts (especially last year's blizzards)...I thought to myself, how you have such long hard winters...no wonder you want to hit people for saying that.

We are loving it too! I would be fine if it kept going indefinitely!

Here! Here!

I was just having this conversation with my friend today!
It's great that it's been 90 degrees- for people who play fall sports it is much nicer to sit in sun and warmth, than rain and cold! My tomatoes are going nuts too. The rain returns all too soon and we dont' see sun until June. So bring on the Indian summer!

Oh I agree! I would take 11 months of Indian Summer. My favorite time o' year.

My kids' jeans are holey and too short. I was hoping they'd last at least a couple months.

I don't welcome cold weather either. I hate winter.

I'm enjoying the warm weather while I can too. Although it is a little cooler here than where you are.

I'm with you... keep the nice weather.

Sounds lovely. I'd smile for 90, I"m just done with 100. Looks like a blast!
