Well, we were wrong!
We noticed a weird bump yesterday, called a doctor friend, and visited urgent care this morning. They are calling it a "green stick" fracture...meaning her bones are soft (like a new branch on a tree) and it mostly bent, with some minor fracturing on the edges. It's hard-splinted now and we'll take her in tomorrow for a real cast.
Our main worry? Jane turns 8 in 8 days. How does one get baptized by immersion when one has a cast on??
The only "non-broken" members of our family are Faith and Ryan now. While it's a tough, cool club to join, we are hoping to keep it pretty exclusive!

Aw, dang...poor Jane! There has to be something to put on it to protect it during the baptism?
its seriously an epidemic. so sorry! When Carson broke his arma a few years back it was a really hot summer and we wrapped his arm in a bag and then used medical tape all around the arm to double seal it. it doesn't look pretty but it works.
Poor Jane! Major bummer. However, she is still super cute - even with a sad face. And reading the Sunday comics? My kind of girl!
For some reason the, "green stick" fracture sounds like it would be more painful than a clean break. Hopefully that isn't the case.
She looks cute in the picture...even though she's broken ;)
I'm so sorry! Poor Jane!! I'm thinking a clear newspaper plastic bag might do the trick for the baptism:)? What rotten timing. Hope she feels better soon!
Wow, that's crazy. Knock on wood, I'm the only one if that club in our family. Good luck with the baptism. That's kinda stressful.
My boys both had water-proof casts. They swam all summer and showered every day. The type of soft-liner they used is some synthetic, quickly drying stuff. Ask about it. Good luck!
Welcome to the club Jane!
I was thinking that your kids break bones a lot...so that was a funny last statement. Its a cool club. :) Well your kids are definitely tough!!!
Poor Janie :( She's one tough cookie!
Poor Jane! I actually had to get baptized one month late cause I had a broken arm too!
It was heartbreaking, but I lived.
Dang! It's not immersion if her arm is in a plastic bag, right?
She's adorable!
