Just Wait Until Spring

Just for the record:

between April and November…the place I live is the most BEAUTIFUL place in the country.

We live in a suburb of Spokane and it’s nestled in the crook of green mountains.  There are tulips and blossoms and huge lilac bushes all over our little carefully planned community.

There are bike paths and one school and an LDS church with a huge white steeple; it’s truly picturesque.

We have a lake that, if you go up a little into the mountains and look down, has brought tears to my eyes due to it’s breathtaking color: pink trees, blue sparkling water, yellow flowering bushes, big puffy white clouds.

When I’m bike riding with my kids or running or walking late at night with a friend, sometimes I can’t believe I’m lucky enough to live here.

(p.s.  these photos are, OF COURSE , not by me and my lame camera skills.  My friend Ashley, blog here, has allowed me to copy and paste her awesome photographs of our area for this post.)

Beautiful. It *ALMOST* makes me miss it. But I would say it is more beautiful June-September when the sun is actually out. . . sometimes. :)

i wish i lived somewhere inspiring. here is not so inspiring...cookie cutter houses, hellish heat, no green trees, only man made "lakes". the weather though, in the winter and spring has truly brought tears to my eyes. it is amazing. i'd take an icy winter any day, though, for beauty like that.

Amen. Spokane is a lot like Oregon in that the summers are so fantastic and the setting is so beautiful that you forget about the long rainy or snowy winters. It's a cyclical amnesia, really.

The winters are easier to handle where I am at now but man, I remember tears welling up as I would drive around the lake and the mountain/hill behind it because the setting was so stunning.

But how are the allergies? Because it's pretty here but I want to scratch my eyes out. As you can imagine I'm extra hot!

Congrats on your marathon. I am so so so happy for and you and proud and did you see Jesus at Mile 20?

Breathtaking. Now I see why you didn't want to pack up and move to Missouri. Bet it's not humid there in the summer, is it?
