Homework, on the first day of school

I’ve made it easy, by filling in the answers for you.  Except the last one…it changes hourly.

1) I had one baby, then another, then another and then another: 114_1497

1+1+1+1=4 kids at home all day.

2) Then one left me,finally, for the whole day, to go to first grade:

4-1=3 kids at home all day

3) Then one more left me, with his big sister, for the whole day, to go to first grade:

4-2=2 kids at home all day

4) Then I had another baby.

Picture 027

4-2+1=3 kids at home all day

5) Then, today, the third baby left, with her older siblings, to go to first grade:

5-3= 2 kids home all day

6) The children at home < the children at school.

7) How ________________ for me!

Pick the word the best describes Jessica’s feelings:

I'd vote for "d". Weird to be back to back to 4-4+2, except now it's 5-3=2. Sad to have cute Jane gone all day. Fun to have some time to focus on Seth and Faith, AND have some time for yourself!!

Totally voting D. It is a mixed emotions day :)

The kids have very nice hair! ;) Must have seen a very good stylist this summer.

All of the above I'm sure.

Clever post.

I want to play with your baby.

I think it's all of the above too! I like that kind of school work.

Great post. Crazy that you had 4 kids before Emma started 1st grade. But I will hopefully have my 4th sometime when Blake is in kindergarten next year...so I guess I'm in the same boat. You will still be busy with 2 little ones at home - but hopefully not AS busy as 5 :)

They are so old and so adorable in that picture, I can't believe it. I hope the school year brings you some much needed RELIEF!

And they all do have great hair, which above all else you may do in your parenting years, means you are a good mom. Just ask Jane.

I dunno the answer. On the one hand it's good to have small numbers, on the other hand when you have the big kids and big numbers they are kind of helpful. I just see this as a great opportunity to train to be old now! then sweet Faith can just be the baby as long as you want.

d, d, d, d!!!

How is it that you look so amazing right after having a baby?????

I think I get it already. Everything about motherhood seems pretty bittersweet!

D. Motherhood is never a single answer.

D! Motherhood is a such a contradictions of emotions. It wears me out.

Cute cute kids!

I'm voting for D because I would feel the same way.

This was such a clever idea. I love the pictures of the kids, they are so great looking, each and every one of them.

Even though some of them are deserters. ;)

You look beautiful even immediately postpartum.

D all the way!

I'm guessing all of the above. Kids are filled with mixed emotions. It's in the rule book. Can I just say again how beautiful your children are? Watch out for when those girls get dating age. You are in trouble, my friend.

Definitely D. Way D.

All of the above.

I saw Emma on the first day of school and I couldn't believe how grown-up she looked!

Enjoy your two at home, because you know it goes by all too quickly.

I bet you are sad for about five minutes and then enjoy it. That is the way it is with me.
