You know you’re a Pacific Northwesterner if…
your kids get “outside recess” cancelled because
there is a moose on the loose.
(No joke: apparently it charged the fence surrounding the play area and the yard duties were all in a panic trying to get the kids inside ASAP—according to Gabe)

That is so funny! I love the Morris book from when I was little. I always read it to my kids at the beginning of the school year!
Guess he made a "moose-take."
I'm betting Gabe was THRILLED!
funny, we had the same problem. except it was after school, so the kids were all held in from coming home. nice for me- an extra hour of solitude. god bless the moose.
Ah, is the same moose who visited the McD's parking lot last year?
Sounds like the moose just wants to make some friends.
Poor Morris.
Thanks for clearing this one up for me...Maya was trying to tell me what happened but she said it was in the church parking lot and there was a mom and a baby and the mom took off....I was a little confused.
Oh my gosh! How exciting and fun for the kids (not the staff!)
That is crazy!!
We get the same thing with deer.
My kids thought it was great! Aubree loved the thought of a moose in Mr. Stallings class!
Dang. We don't have any moose here in Missouri. I'd love an extra hour to myself like Andrea! Wanna ship Morris here?
Just give him a gum balls (or is it gum drops or lollipops? Ack!)
okay, if there were an award of some kind I could bestow upon you for hands-down the best blog post I've read all week, I would!
LOVE IT!
We get Morris the Moose in our yard every winter. Last year he was a permanent visitor. We had to check outside every time the kids wanted to go out and play. Kendon is just waiting for the day when a baby shows up and he can capture it and make it our pet. Good grief!
Yikes. Is the plural of moose meese?
Whoa!!!!
We get stray dogs in Georgia...but a MOOSE is super exciting!! Of, course...it has potential to be quite dangerous...especially since it was, CHARGING the fence!? Yipe.
I am not going to show my kids this. They will just complain that nothing exciting ever happens around here.
Ha! That is awesome.
So, I just got called to be a Stake Girls Camp Ass't Director (thank goodness for the Assistant part, right?) And I think to myself, Jessica mentioned Girls Camp on her blog...I wonder what she wrote about it?
And on August 18, 2008, I found this little gem: "Girls Camp was beyond wonderful and deserves it's own post. One hopefully filled with many pictures this flattering."
But no more mention...no more pics in a cute pink t-shirt... it hasn't quite been 6 months, though, and so you still have a couple of days before it's REALLY REALLY old news, whereas now it's just REALLY old news, so how about a little girls camp post with ideas for those of us planning for this year? I think it would be perfect timing, actually...
:):):)
Audrie is the queen of trickery. Those baby girls are just too cute and good smelling.
