They were always mending something, grinding wheat, baking bread, hanging clothes to dry... <BR/><BR/>I don't mean to say they were bad in anyway, they were, sometimes, an example of the mom I WISHED I had. But the reality of their large families often caused them to focus so much on others they forgot to focus on themselves once in a while. But they were never fashionable! LOL. <BR/><BR/>Good luck finding your dress. When we went on a cruise a few years back I just work a simply cut white knit top with a long black skirt, but i did my hair up and pulled out my rhinestone jewelry and heels from my pageant queen days. I am so proud that you didn't give in the child pressure. We all know how hard that can be. You could always wear a little fancy sweater or pashmini over your dress to help with the coverage. Especially because it will be cool and breezy at night on the ship. On our cruise I wore a black dress (boring I know) but then glammed it up with jewelery and a cool pashmini.
